Why it’s important to take a day off from work

It is not just about being a workaholic; working week after week without a break can take a toll on you. That’s exactly the reason why a number of people prefer to go for weekend away, vacations etc. I did this exact thing a couple of day ago and it did help me, that’s what inspired me to write this post.
I took a day off, sat home, binged watched series, did absolutely nothing and it felt really nice.

Here’s how it helped me and here’s how it helps,

Helps you focus better
Working nonstop can lead to a burn out. You need to pause and take breaks. The day off can let you calm down and keep your stress in control, this leads to you work better and focus better when you get back to work the next day.

Back with a bang
With that stress gone and after you spent a day doing things that you wanted to do you are more motivated the next day. You get to work with a positive attitude, ready to win that project and finish all the pending work.

Allows you to calm down and take care of yourself
Mental health is as important as physical, unfortunately you cannot call in work and ask them that you need a mental break. Calling in sick and explaining that you have a flu is still acceptable, but calling your boss and saying that you need a mental break is not acceptable. It is not a bad thing to want to relax and calm down, but relaxing equals to ‘chilling at the beach’ in today’s dictionary.

Have you ever taken a day off just to relax? Tell me about it in the comments below; you can also share what you did that day J

Oriflame’s Giordani Gold CC Cream SPF 35 - Review

My everyday makeup includes BB or CC cream, eye makeup and lipstick. Obviously the routine changes depending on my mood, and how late I am for work. BB creams have been my favorite, for the longest time I have been using Maybelline’s BB cream (Link: ) and I loved it.

Recently, I made a switch and used a CC Cream by Lakme (Link: ), honestly, don’t even try this one out. It makes your skin dry, it is difficult to apply and makes your face look patchy. It also made my face oily after a few hours and I had to blot my face at regular intervals.

I then tried out Oriflame’s  Giordani Gold CC Cream SPF 35– it is fabulous!
It is light on your face and you don’t even feel like you have it on. It gives a medium coverage and is perfect if you are trying to attempt the no-makeup-makeup look. It will not completely hide your blemishes or acne completely but will give you a super natural look.  It additionally also has SPF 35, which makes it perfect for daily wear.

It comes in a simple tube which makes it easy to store and apply. I directly apply it on my face and then blend it in.

Since it comes in a tube, I apply it directly on my face and then blend it in with my fingers. The formula is so nice that you don’t even need a blender or a brush to blend it in, your fingers can do the magic. I like that you don’t have to force blend it, it is easy and does its job quickly without you pulling or tugging your skin.

What I Feel
I love the way it makes my skin look, it gives me minimal coverage with a slight glow. The feel of it is completely natural thus you wouldn’t feel like you have something on your skin all the time. It doesn’t make your face ashy or patchy or oily. I actually feel that does a little bit of oil control, so at times if I just touch up my face with a little bit of compact on my T-zone and under my eyes, and I am done!

It retails for INR 999/- for 40ml on Oriflame’s website, here:

I understand that it can be a little pricey, but trust me it is worth the money. Also you really need only a small amount of product everyday thus making the tube last for a long time.
You can also buy from other websites here:

Chickoo Tree Project, South Goa - Review

A quaint little place in South Goa which makes you feel at home the minute you enter. The interesting thing about this place is that, it not only offers food but also other activities. They organise fun events and arrange for live band to perform making the place dynamic. Every time you enter the place, you might just find something fun happening here.

The owner is really sweet and chatty, we were invited there and she shared stories about how they started the place and what they plan on doing etc over lunch.

Coming to the food, she has kept it really simple yet innovative and yum. She has given a twist to the traditional dishes that she has grown up eating, so you can find Raagi Dosa with an interesting filling here.

We ate a couple of dishes here and they were super yum. Their Ginger ale was just the thing I needed on a hot summer afternoon.
